Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pickup from hotel in Kigali – Transfer to Kahuzi Biega national park Congo
Our company tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali after breakfast and transfer to Bukavu border where you will cross into Congo. We shall have the Congo visa already approved so that the process of crossing into Congo is smooth.
Have dinner and overnight at.

Day 2: Lowland gorilla trekking
Set off from your hotel after breakfast to transfer to Kahuzi Biega national park head offices where you will meet the park management team who will be conducting gorilla trekking. Lowland gorilla trekking in Congo is a well-managed wildlife conservation program whose role is to protect lowland gorillas in Congo through strictly managed tourism where tourists must observe rules as they head in the forest to trek the gorillas.
You will spend 1 hour with the lowland gorillas in which you observe and watch the large giants go about their daily activity eating trees and moving about the forest.
You will later return back to your hotel for dinner and overnight at.

Day 3: Transfer from Bukavu – cross into Burundi for a brief Bujumbura tour
Have breakfast at your hotel in Bukavu and be ready to drive crossing back into Rwanda and later crossing into Burundi. We shall have your Burundi visa already approved for smooth crossing into Bujumbura to start off with your tour.
Day 4: Lake Tanganyika, Gitega city tour and Gishora Drum Sanctuary
After a morning cup of coffee we shall set off for a city tout of Bujumbura to visit interesting sites in the city like the cultural museum, presidential offices, fresh fruit markets, art museum.
You will spend the rest of the evening exploring the unique Gishora Drum Sanctuary located in Burundi’s new capital city of Gitega. Establishes as a UNESCO Heritage site, the sanctuary drumming is a ritual to present the success of King Mwezi the 4th Gisabo Bikata when he won the rebellion over chief Ntibirangwa who had long strained the peace in the kingdom.
The people of Burundi have praised his victory until today and drum with confidence as a way of praise.
You will have a chance to take part in the special presentation which will entertain you and dance to the music of the drums.
You will have a chance to visit the Gitega national museum and the city.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibira national park – Transfer into Rwanda – drive to lake Kivu
Start your day with early breakfast ad be ready for pickup by our company tour Today we shall be visiting Kibira national park. Due to its large forest cover, the park is home to chimpanzees and over 70 mammal species living in Kibira national park.
Later be ready to transfer to Rwanda and driving to lake Kivu for canoeing on lake Kivu. You will have dinner and overnight overlooking the beautiful lake.

Day 6: Canoeing on lake Kivu – Transfer to Volcanoes national park
After breakfast, your guide will set you up on a boatride along lake Kivu for canoeing and island tour. Later you will transfer to Volcanoes national park – home of mountain gorillas of Rwanda.

Day 7: Golden monkey Tracking
Start off with breakfast and drive to the Kinigi Volcanoes Park office for briefing about golden monkey tracking and start off with the adventure. Golden monkey tracking offers a sure deal to see the primates jump in trees as they feed and play in the Volcanoes national park.
In the afternoon you will take park in Ibywacu cultural village for an authentic Rwanda cultural adventure with the locals.

Day 8: Mount Bisoke Hiking – Full day hike
Start early today with briefing the Kinigi volcanoes national park offices about what to expect for the 1 Day full mount Bisoke hike. This is a scenic hike with some of the best views of Volcanoes national park.
Day 9: Transfer to lake Bunyonyi – relaxing by the lake today
Set off at leisure crossing into Uganda and drive to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most beautiful spots. Today is a day to relax from the hike as you prepare for gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest national park.

Day 11: Canoeing and lake tour – Transfer to Bwindi national park.
Set off for canoeing and island tour today after your breakfast at your hotel. You listen to the tales of lake Bunyonyi and why it’s considered the most beautiful lake in Uganda.

Day 12: Mountain Gorilla Trekking – visit Batwa Pygmies tribe
After an early night, today is for early rising for breakfast and head-out to attend briefing at the park office where you are briefed about how the gorilla experience is carried out and how you need to conduct. Your guides will take you hiking to the gorillas which last from 1 hour – 6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla group. You only spend 1 hour with the mountain gorillas and return back to your hotel for lunch, relax overlooking the beautiful forest.
You can have an optional visit to the Batwa pygmies comes to experience culture of the people who once depended on the Bwindi forest for food and shelter.

After breakfast we drive through Ishasha sector to see tree climbing lions from Bwindi impenetrable forest. We shall drive to Kasenyi sector of Queen Elizabeth national park where we shall have dinner and overnight at Enganzi Lodge (budget), Park View safari lodge (midrange) and Mweya safari lodge / Katara Safari Lodge (luxury)
Day 14: Game drive – launch cruise along the kazinga channel
Have an early breakfast or have it packed and head-out for game drive before the sun comes out to catch more wildlife in the park. Have lunch at your hotel and headout for sunset launch along the Kazinga channel. Have dinner and overnight at Enganzi Lodge (budget), Park View safari lodge (midrange) and Mweya safari lodge / Katara Safari Lodge (luxury)
Day 15: Lion Tracking experiential – Transfer to Kibale national park
Today you will be having Lion Tracking experiential in Queen Elizabeth national park to observe lions and other BIG 5 animals as you drive off truck to find the wildlife in the park. Later you will transfer to Kibale national park.
Have dinner and overnight stay at Turaco treetop / chimpanzee guest house (budget) and Turaco treetop / chimpanzee guest house Midrange cottages, Papaya Lake Lodge(luxury) and Kyaninga lodge (Super luxury)
Day 16: Chimpanzee Tracking – visit Bigodi swamp
Wake up for breakfast at your hotel and drive to the Kanyanchu offices which is the briefing point for chimpanzee tracking. You can have both chimpanzee habituation experience and chimpanzee tracking. The activity normally last 5 – 6 hours watching the chimpanzees while habituation last full day with the chimpanzees. After chimpanzee tracking, you will return to the park headquarters, relax a bit and head to the Bigodi wetlands if you are interested in birding or visit the Bigodi community for community tourism and later return to your lodge. Have dinner and overnight at your accommodation.
Day 17: Departure – though Uganda Entebbe Int airport
Set off at leisure for Kampala with a visit to the equator. Your guide will drop you off at the airport to catch your departure flight today or drop you at your hotel for dinner and overnight.
