Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park

Pick up by our company representative at a hotel or area of residence in Kampala or Entebbe ready to embark on 4-5 hours’ drive journey to Murchison Falls National Park which is located in northwestern Uganda. You will drive from Kampala via Luweero-Masindi route and along the way, you will branch off to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. After, you will proceed to Masindi town to have lunch and then connect to Murchison Falls National Park via Kichumbanyobo gate. Arrive early enough and visit the top of the falls.

Day 2: Game drives and boat cruise at Murchison Falls National Park

Early in the morning, you will have breakfast and after, you will take part in game drives to the northern section of Murchison Falls National Park. A game drive along this area gets you a chance to look out for variety of savanna dwellers including lions, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, giraffes, bird species while also enjoying the sceneries and breathtaking landscape. This will last you 2 to 3 hours and after, you will be driven back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you have boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Along the way, you have opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles, water birds and many other wildlife species.

Day 3: Travel to Kibale National Park

Have breakfast early in the morning and later, you will be transferred to Kibale National Park which is about 7 hours’ drive in a good and comfortable 4×4 safari vehicle. Along the way, you will have breathtaking view of landscape, sceneries in this particular area. You will have lunch/packed lunch en-route and continue to Kibale National Park.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have breakfast early in the morning and later, you are expected at Kanyanchu Visitor Center where you will be briefed on the guidelines for chimpanzee tracking. At 8:00am, you will start with your primate adventure and park ranger guide will take you through. Chimpanzee trek in Kibale National Park takes you 2-4 hours and one hour is given to you to explore the behaviors of chimpanzees, take their photos. You will also come across other amazing creatures including L’Hoest monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, birds, baboons, red tailed monkeys, red colobus monkeys and many others.

In the afternoon, you will have brief nature walk in Bigodi and then connect to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 5: Game drives and boat cruise at Queen Elizabeth National Park

After early morning breakfast, you will embark on game viewing tour along Kasenyi trail where you will look out for leopards, lions, Kobs, birds, buffaloes, bush elephants and many others. It is a 2-3 hours’ experience and after, you get back to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will have boat cruise on Kazinga Channel which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. You will spot out for hippos, crocodiles, water birds and many other wildlife species.

Day 6: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 7: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park

Wake up early in the morning and later, gather at park offices to be briefed on the guidelines for gorilla trekking. At 8:00am, you will begin your adventure after you have been assigned to family to track in a group of 8 trekkers. This will take you 2-6 hours depending on your speed of hiking, nature of habitat and location of gorillas. The four regions where gorilla treks begin in Bwindi National Park include Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo and Rushaga; each of them has gorilla families. The groups to trek in Bwindi include Mucunguzi, Katwe, Habinyanja, Mubare, Nshongi, Kahungye, Mishaya, Nkuringo, Bushaho, Bikingi, Rwigi, Bweza, Christmas and others. A maximum of one hour is given to you for photography and exploring their behaviors.

In the Afternoon after you have relaxed, you will pay a visit to Batwa community for cultural exploration. The Batwa pygmies are believed to have lived in the forest for over 500000 years as hunters, gatherers.

Day 8: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi

Get up early in the morning to enjoy your breakfast and after, you will connect to Lake Bunyonyi-a home to about 29 magical islands and breathtaking landscapes. In Kabale, you will have stopover for lunch and proceed to Lake Bunyonyi. In the afternoon, you will go for nature along the forest trail which gets you incredible sights at varied birds.
