The 12 Days best of Uganda safari starts off with rhino tracking on the way to visiting Murchison falls National Park with a game drive and launch cruise at the bottom of the falls and hike to the top of the falls, Kibale forest is our next destination for chimpanzee tracking or habituation experience. You will visit wildlife in Queen Elizabeth national park and tree climbing lions in ishasha sector and proceed to Bwindi national park to trek mountain gorillas and see batwa pygmies. This tour ends with relaxing at lake Bunyonyi and seeing Zebras in Lake Mburo national park driving back to Entebbe for departure.

Brief Itinerary

Day 1: Pickup from the airport – Transfer to your hotel in Entebbe

Day 2: Drive to Murchison falls National Park – Enroute Rhino Tracking

Day 3: Game drive – Sunset launch cruise at the bottom of the falls

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale national park

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Pickup from the airport – Drive to hotel in Kampala
Depending on arrival time, our guide will wait for your arrival and drive you to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala for overnight. Luxury Accommodation at Serena Lake Victoria, Midrange at Karibu Guest house / 2 Friends Hotel and budget at Papyrus Hotel Entebbe / Ruch Hotel

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park – Zziwa Rhino Tracking
Be up early for breakfast at your hotel, your guide will pick you up and drive off for Murchison Falls national park. You will make a stop at Zziwa Rhino ranch for Rhino tracking and lunch. Later drive to Murchison falls national park. Drive to your hotel as you view numerous wildlife in Murchison Falls. Dinner and overnight at Bakers Lodge (super Luxury), Paraa Safari Lodge (luxury), Pakuba Lodge (midrange) and Red Chili Rest Camp (budget)

Day 3: Morning Game drives and Sunset boat cruise
Today you will have an early breakfast at your hotel and be ready for a morning game drive in Murchison falls national park which lasts 3 – 4 hours of wildlife viewing. In the afternoon have a sunset launch cruise which goes to the bottom of the Murchison falls. Go off the Boat and hike to the top of the falls. This is a very scenic hike and quite rewarding. You can have an optional evening game drive for more intimate wildlife viewing. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National park
Today is a long drive to Kibale national park which sets off after breakfast at your hotel and set off. You will have lunch on the drive and several stops for nature. Haved dinner and overnight stay at Turacco tree top / chimpanzee guest house (budget) and Turacco tree top / chimpanzee guest house Midrange cottages, Papaya Lake Lodge(luxury) and Kyaninga lodge (Super luxury)

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking – Bigodi swamp tour
Wake up for breakfast at your hotel and drive to the Kanyanchu offices which is the briefing point for chimpanzee tracking. You can have both chimpanzee habituation experience and chimpanzee tracking. The activity normally last 5 – 6 hours watching the chimpanzees while habituation last full day with the chimpanzees. After chimpanzee tracking, you will return to the park headquarters, relax a bit and head to the Bigodi wetlands if you are interested in birding or visit the Bigodi community for community tourism and later return to your lodge. Have dinner and overnight at your accommodation

Day 6: Dive to Queen Elizabeth National park – Afternoon Boat Cruise
Have breakfast at your hotel and drive off 3 hours to Queen Elizabeth national park. You will have arrival game drive in the Kasenyi sector of the park for wildlife viewing. Have lunch at your hotel and headout for sunset launch along the Kazinga channel.  Have dinner and overnight at Enganzi Lodge (budget), Park View safari lodge (midrange) and Mweya safari lodge / Katara Safari Lodge (luxury)

Day 7: Morning Game Drive – Transfer to Ishasha sector to see tree climbing lions
Have an early breakfast or have it packed and head-out for game drive before the sun comes out to catch more wildlife in the park. Later drive to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park where tree climbing lions are found. On Arrival have a game drive in the park to search for tree climbing lions normally stopped up on fig trees. Dinner and overnight at your accommodation

Day 8: Drive to Bwindi through Ishasha Sector
Today we drive through Ishasha sector to see tree climbing lions as we drive to Bwindi impenetrable forest. On arrival checkinto your hotel for dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs (super Luxury), Buhoma haven Lodge / Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge (Luxury) Rushaga Gorilla camp / Bakiga Lodge (Midrange) and Broadbill Forest Camp(Budget)

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking – Visit Batwa Pygmies Community
After an early night, today is for early rising for breakfast and head-out to attend briefing at the park office where you are briefed about how the gorilla experience is carried out and how you need to conduct. Your guides will take you hiking to the gorillas which last from 1 hour – 6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla group. You only spend 1 hour with the mountain gorillas and return back to your hotel for lunch, relax overlooking the beautiful forest.

You can have an optional visit to the Batwa pygmies comes to experience culture of the people who once depended on the Bwindi forest for food and shelter.

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Set off or 2 – 3 hours drive to Lake Bunyonyi where you will have lunch and a boat ride exploring the different islands surrounding the lake. Later have dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Overland camp (budget), Bunyonyi Rock Hotel (mid range)/ Acadia cottages lake bunyonyi (luxury)

Day 11: Transfer To Lake Mburo National Park – Game drive
Have a relaxed morning and a beautifl breakfast overlooking the beautiful lake and be ready to set off for Lake Mburo national park mostly popular for the zebras. You will have lunch on road and on arrival have an evening game drive to see the zebras and other wildlife. Have dinner and overnight at eagles nest (budget), Rwacobo Rock (mid range), Rwacobo Rock Luxury cottages / Mihingo lodge (luxury)

Day 12: Morning Game drive – Departure
After breakfast, head-out for a boat ride and a departure game drive and later  will transfer back to Kampala with en route stopover in Mbarara town for Lunch.
